New, coming back, or just not in a hurry. No watch needed. Walking is part of the session, not a failure of it.
The group
From the Nunny, on purpose.
Nunsthorpe is the estate on the west side of Grimsby, between Laceby Road and Scartho Road. People who live there call it the Nunny. The name is the place.
What this is
A social running group. We meet when someone posts a run, we move, we wait for each other, and we go home. That might be a walk-run round the estate, or the woods. Cleethorpes parkrun is down the road if people want to go together. Parkrun runs that event.
There is no clubhouse, no subscription, and no committee yet. The list is looked after by lonewolf, for now.
What this is not
We are not England Athletics. We are not coached. We are not insured as a club. You run as yourself, at your own risk. If you want track sessions, a licence, and races in a vest, Grimsby Harriers and Cleethorpes AC use King George V. Wolds Veteran Runners have been a Grimsby club for years. They are glad of people. We are the casual one from the estate.
The safety page is the serious bit. Read it before you join.
There is no kit shop. Wear something you can move in, and something a driver can see when it is dark. If we ever print a bib, it will be optional. This is only the idea.
The three paces
Steady
Easy enough to talk.
Conversational pace. If you are gasping, this is the wrong effort for tonight.
Striders
A bit quicker.
Still a social run. You wait at the corners like everyone else. Efforts are here if the run that day includes them.
